Lubbock Has Specific Street-Parking Restrictions
Under City Code §20.04.017, certain trucks, recreational vehicles, recreational equipment, and trailers are restricted from parking on designated collector streets or on streets within 250 feet of a single-family residence.
The rule applies when a vehicle exceeds a capacity of 1.5 tons or measures more than 18 feet long, seven feet wide, or seven feet high. These are alternative thresholds, not measurements that must all be exceeded.
The ordinance contains a limited exception for actual loading or unloading with a driver present, restricted to the time needed for that activity. It is not general permission to leave a large RV on a residential street.
A separate provision, §20.04.015, prohibits street parking for the purpose of displaying a vehicle for sale. For an owner preparing to sell, identify a lawful place for photographs or a possible condition review rather than assuming the curb is acceptable.
Check Where the RV Is Actually Located
A Lubbock mailing address does not always establish that an RV is stored inside Lubbock city limits. Wolfforth is a separate municipality, and parts of the surrounding area fall under county rather than city jurisdiction. Local rules may differ.
If your RV is kept in a residential driveway, side yard, fenced enclosure, or commercial storage facility, confirm any applicable city rules, property restrictions, or facility requirements before arranging movement.
Consider whether there is enough clearance for the RV to leave its parking space without obstructing a sidewalk, driveway, or street. This is particularly important for large fifth wheels, longer motorhomes, and RVs that have remained stationary for an extended period.
Useful first step: Identify the RV's actual storage address and a lawful off-street location where it can remain while you prepare for a potential sale.
